Hemp and jute ropes, so similar and yet different!

The diameters can be seen very clearly in the picture. Unfortunately, this information is never exactly correct and can vary somewhat.

To briefly explain the whole thing:

I'll just go with the Jute High Class 5mm. The rope consists of 3 strands and each strand consists of 10 strands of yarn. As soon as the 30 threads deviate from the measurement by just 0.1mm, it can already affect the future rope. If the rope is then twisted or beaten, you have to calculate again whether it should be looser or tighter and, if so, the Adjust amount of threads. In general, one can say that every rope that leaves the rope factory is a little bit different.

Ultimately, it is then also refined. Depending on the type of processing, the diameter can also change a little here.

So please don't fixate too much on the given diameter

The versions CLASSIC and EXCLUSIVE

CLASSIC

The ropes are provided with a simple overhand knot at the ends and are of course ready to use.

They were cleaned, broken, flamed, washed and then treated with oil to prepare the rope for future use.

EXKLUSIV

Of course, these ropes are also treated ready-to-use. They impress with the small, firm and complex triskey knot at the ends of the rope, which has a number of advantages when tying up.

Furthermore, the ropes are flamed and oiled several times

The ropes of Bavarian Bondage

Well, ropes are a dime a dozen, but most of them don't have the quality to become a bondage rope. I too had to search and try for a long time to find a rope factory that could meet my needs.

Origin

My hemp ropes, the S-Edition and the standard jute rope are made in a German rope factory according to my wishes and requirements. Personal contact and an understanding of the use of the ropes are particularly important to me.

The High Class Jute, on the other hand, is manufactured in several rope factories worldwide. However, the company's headquarters are in Germany. Very good ropes are produced with ambition and experience.

Knot:

There are neither hemp ropes nor jute ropes to buy in a rope factory that have no knots. The knots refer to the individual threads that are twisted into a rope. These are repeatedly lengthened or tied to one another and, as it were, twisted into the rope. In good ropes, the knots are small, tight, have short ends, and are twisted tightly into the rope. This is a very important requirement for a good bondage rope.

Smell

A very important point is the smell. If you unpack your ropes and an unpleasant smell hits your nose, the bondage evening can be over quickly. I attach great importance to the fact that ropes have a subtle smell and are only noticed when you really sniff them. The natural hemp ropes on offer smell a little like hay and the treatment oil, the colored ones are almost odorless. When it comes to jute ropes, the high class are at the forefront. They have a very pleasant, slightly sweet smell. The colored ones are like the hemp ropes, these are also almost odorless. The standard jute, on the other hand, smells a bit more distinctive because it was treated with Baching oil during production, which is not the case with the high class.

Ready to tie:

All ropes that you can buy from me are treated ready for binding. Slightly different depending on the rope. But in general, unpack and get started. Hemp ropes now feel a bit hard and firm. This is because the ropes are washed before being oiled. Drying is similar to drying a towel on a drying rack, as the fibers don't move and the fibers harden. When you use your ropes, they quickly become pleasantly soft again.

Jute ropes have the problem of increased fluff and should occasionally be re-scoured and treated regularly with oil or wax. The longer jute ropes are used, the better it gets with the fluff. Tips for aftercare and care can be found under things worth knowing.
